About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dermatology Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting dermatologists in providing high-quality patient care. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of dermatological practices. The Dermatology Assistant will work closely with patients, assisting in various procedures and ensuring a smooth workflow within the clinic.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of anatomy relevant to dermatology practices.
• Experience or familiarity with geriatrics and urgent care settings is a plus.
• Ability to perform coding for medical procedures accurately.
• Understanding of emergency medicine protocols as they relate to dermatological emergencies.
• Familiarity with X-ray procedures and interpretation is beneficial.
• Experience working in a Level II Trauma Center or similar environment is preferred.
• Proficient in using healthcare systems for patient management and documentation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including those in pediatric intensive care units (PICU).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in urgent care settings.
• Familiarity with X-ray procedures and interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Assist dermatologists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Take and record vital signs accurately to monitor patient health.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
• Educate patients on skin care routines, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care effectively.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
• Stay updated on the latest dermatological practices and technologies to enhance patient care.
