Requirements

• An M D or equi v
• 3 + years
• Successf ul comp l et io n of a medical int ernship and med i ca l res id ency at an accredited medica l
• Excellent attention to detail during consultations with patients and reviewing medical record s
• Effective interpersonal skills within the medical team and a lso with patients
• Manual dexterity to examine the skin, apply treatments, and perform minor surgeries
• Strong clinical diagnostic skills
• Com mitment to a high standard of care through the promotion and maintenance of skin health
• Capable of multitasking and working diligently in a fast-paced work environment

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough skin examinations and records patients' health histories.
• Diagnoses and treats pigmented lesions such as common acquired nevi, congenital nevi, dysplastic nevi, Spitz nevi, blue nevi, melanoma and skin conditions such as acne , dandruff, at hlete 's foot, moles, psoriasis, and skin cancer.
• Counsels patients on topics such as the need for annual dermatolog ic screenings, sun protection, skin cancer awareness, or skin and lymph node self-examinations.
• Perform s incisional biop sies to diagno se melanoma and skin s urger ies to improve appearance, make early diagnoses, or to control di seases s uch as skin
• Prescribes hormonal agents or topi ca l treatments such as contraceptives, spironolactone, anti-androgens, oral corticos teroid s, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, and antibiotics .
• Provides therapies such as intr alesional steroids, chemica l peels, and comodo remo va l to treat age spo ts, sun damage, rough skin, d i scolored skin, or o i ly
• Recommends diagnostic test s based on patients' histories and physical examination find i ng
• Evaluates patients to determine eligibility for cosmetic procedures such as liposuction, laser resurfacing, and microdermabrasion, and performs procedures as required.
• Reads current literature, ta lk s with co ll eagues, and participates i n professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast of developments in dermatology.
