The Derivatives Operations Analyst at Wellington Management will support the collateral and margin processes for various derivatives products across the post-execution lifecycle. This role involves daily margin reconciliations, accounting postings, and control reconciliations, while collaborating with brokers, vendors, and internal teams to ensure efficient trade capture and issue resolution. The Analyst will also focus on process improvements and participate in user acceptance testing for various projects.

  • Daily review of margin calls from brokers and investigation of discrepancies
  • Daily post-value cash reconciliations of collateral and margin movements
  • Daily control reconciliations including holdings, collateral, and currency balances between internal accounting, clearing brokers, custodians, and clearing houses
  • Effectively participate in the management of broker relationships
  • Serve as an escalation point for incoming queries and issues raised by clients, custodians, accounting agents, brokers, portfolio managers, trading, and other internal stakeholders
  • Serve as a resource for internal teams handling derivative-related queries and audit requests from clients and their agents
  • Continuously identify opportunities for front-to-back efficiency and control process improvements and assist in implementing necessary changes
  • Participate in industry working groups to identify new clearing opportunities and potential challenges of regulatory changes
  • Be a steward of risk and control frameworks, always keeping work quality and accuracy in mind
  • Experience with back and/or middle office operations with exposure to both Cleared and Bilateral Derivatives
  • Direct margin and collateral management experience is a plus
  • Highly motivated with strong communication skills, high attention to detail, and a problem-solving/analytical mindset
  • Track record of driving process improvements
  • Must be both team-oriented and a strong independent contributor
  • Experience working in a global team setting is a plus
  • Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record
  • 2-4 years of relevant industry experience is preferred
  • Technical proficiency in Excel (macros, etc.), Python, and SQL preferred
