About The Position

The Deputy Title IX Coordinator partners with the Title IX Coordinator to respond to complaints of sexual misconduct, as defined under the University's Policy on Nondiscrimination Based on Sex and Gender, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct. The Deputy will conduct Title IX workshops and presentations for the campus community, including training for mandatory reporters. There will be a focus on partnering and collaborating with the Athletics department. As a member of the larger staff in Student Life, the Deputy Title IX Coordinator collaborates and cooperates to create leadership and intercultural competence opportunities to support student learning and development in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. The mission of Student Life is to fully support holistic student development within a social justice framework centered in preparing students to be caring, socially responsible citizens in our global and local Community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years related experience in Title IX investigations, victim advocacy and/or student conduct.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Title IX, VAWA, and Clery Act.

Responsibilities

  • Directs REPS (Resources, Education, Prevention and Support) Initiative, leading all sexual violence prevention and education efforts campus-wide.
  • Conducts annual orientation training, student leader and student-athlete training.
  • Hires and supervises REPS student interns annually.
  • Responsible for Title IX and REPS related communications including managing email communications and social media presence.
  • Develops and facilitates training for all university responsible employees/mandated reporters.
  • Serves as Chair for REPS Advisory Board, collaborating with students, faculty and staff.
  • Develops and facilitates innovative programming for the University's on and off campus student communities.
  • Works in collaboration with campus partners to assist individuals experiencing issues that may impede their academic success.
  • Identifies training needs for faculty, staff, and students.
  • Maintains records relating to curriculum development, delivery, and completion.
  • Conducts annual assessment related to training and supports campus climate data collection.
  • Collaborates with campus offices and partners to review or investigate reported Title IX-related incidents.
  • Serves as the main conduit between the Athletics Department and Title IX Office.
  • Assists the Title IX Coordinator in managing all reports of sex and gender discrimination.
  • Assists in creating and implementing University policy in line with state and federal laws.
  • Serves as acting Title IX Coordinator in the absence of Title IX Coordinator.
  • Supports cases involving pregnant and/or parenting students.
  • Utilizes Maxient to organize, manage, and track Title IX inquiries, complaints and investigations.
  • Recruits members for the Title IX Resolution Pool.
  • Provides comprehensive, timely, trauma-informed response and support services.
  • Conducts intake meetings with individuals reporting sexual misconduct.
  • Works with Investigators and the Title IX Coordinator to ensure a well-documented investigative process.
  • Assists with Title IX investigations and hearings.
  • Provides supportive measures to individuals involved in reporting or investigations.
  • Assists in maintaining current inventory of regulations and statutes relating to sex and gender-based violence.
  • Assists in collecting and reporting data needed for the Annual Security Report.
