About The Position

The Sheriff's office offers a variety of opportunities for those interested in a career in criminal justice. This position allows candidates to test year-round for the role of deputy sheriff. Deputies are expected to make a significant difference in the community and are required to be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment. Candidates must have no felony or certain misdemeanor convictions, and upon employment, deputies are required to live in Champaign County or a surrounding county. Deputies living within Champaign County benefit from a take-home patrol car.

Responsibilities

• Complete the application process through the National Testing Network.
• Participate in the entry-level exam for deputy sheriff positions.
