The Court Security/Transport Deputy is responsible for providing security at the entrances to the Courthouse, court security, internal security, perimeter security, and parking lot security. The Deputy is responsible for all security aspects of the courthouse, including ensuring that the judges and judicial staff, court employees, and the general public visiting the courthouse are safe by screening visitors and clearing them for entry as well as providing security in the courtrooms during hearings, and responding to calls for service within the courthouse. The Deputy is also responsible for transporting inmates to and from court hearings and medical appointments. They will safely transport prisoners with security procedures appropriate to risk, supervise the inmates while being transported to and from the correctional facility insuring inmate safety and security. The Deputy is also responsible for long-distance transports to other county facilities or State Hospital. The Deputy is required to keep court notes for the hearing to be turned over to the Detention Center to update booking information. This position deals with highly volatile situations and diverse individuals.
