About The Position

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Full Time and Part Time Deputy for the Westmoreland County Sheriff's Office.. The purpose of this position is to serve various court orders and maintain courtroom security. The following duties are normal for this position but are not to be construes as exclusive or all-inclusive; other duties may be required and assigned:

Requirements

• Applicants must be a high school graduate or equivalent
• Required to maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Must be Act 120 or Act 2 certified.

Nice To Haves

• 1 to 2 years criminal justice experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve: Civil writs, complaints, judgments, executions, subpoenas, court notices and criminal bench warrants
• Maintains courtroom and courthouse security; monitors holding cells; escorts witnesses, defendants, prisoners and other to and from the courtroom
• Transports prisoners to and from jails, mental health facilities, juvenile institutions and other facilities as needed
• Maintains records of cases involving prisoners, duplicates court orders involving prisoners
