The Opportunity: We have an exciting opening for an Entry-Level Deputy Sheriff-Detention. This role serves a critical function within our organization, being directly responsible for the supervision, security, and control of inmates in our detention facility.
Requirements
- A High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a detailed background check and a physical fitness examination.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience or training in corrections, law enforcement or a related field.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Skills in conflict resolution and crisis management.
- Experience using computer and information systems.
- Ability to speak a second language fluently.
Responsibilities
- Supervise inmates in living quarters and instruct them in proper housekeeping and sanitation.
- Maintain the security of the facility, ensuring rules, regulations and procedures are adhered to.
- Prepare written reports on inmate behavior and activities.
- Conduct head counts, security checks and inspections.
- Respond to emergencies and collaboratively work with other law enforcement officials.
