About The Position
As Deputy Scheduler in the Governor's Office, you'll play a central role in making sure the Governor's time is used as effectively, strategically, and meaningfully as possible. This position is more than calendar management-it's about making connections, balancing competing priorities, and supporting leadership at the highest level of public service. In this role, you'll be scheduling requests that come from all corners-community members, elected officials, organizations, and others seeking the Governor's time and attention. You'll track and triage these requests, gather the background needed to inform decisions, and help shape a calendar that reflects the administration's goals and values. You'll be assembling daily briefing materials, reviewing documents for clarity and accuracy, and coordinating logistics to ensure the Governor is prepared and supported for each engagement. When events shift-which they often do-you'll respond quickly and calmly, adjusting schedules and communicating changes with professionalism and care. You'll also serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Assistant, stepping in seamlessly during absences or high-volume periods, and gradually building your own working relationship with the Governor based on respect, trust, and insight into their communication style and priorities. This is a public-facing role too. That means you'll represent the Governor's Office with integrity in every interaction-whether you're confirming a meeting, sending regrets, or coordinating with community members, agencies, or partner organizations. You know how to read the room, communicate succinctly, and keep your cool under pressure. You're comfortable adapting plans in real time and juggling multiple priorities without losing sight of the bigger picture. This role isn't always easy-but it's meaningful, high-impact work, done in close collaboration with a team that's committed to service, excellence, and integrity.
