The Oregon Public Guardian (OPG) program is seeking a Deputy Public Guardian to support and protect adults who cannot make essential life decisions due to serious medical, cognitive, or psychosocial conditions. This is a temporary role, but the impact you'll make is lasting. As a Deputy Public Guardian, you will serve as a court-appointed guardian for adults in need—people at high risk for abuse, neglect, or self-harm who have no one else to help. You will conduct at least monthly in-person visits with up to 20 clients living in and around the Portland Metro area, make decisions about housing, healthcare, safety, and services, ensure your clients' civil and human rights are protected, collaborate with healthcare, legal, and human services providers statewide, maintain detailed records, and continuously reassess client needs. You will also write and file annual guardianship reports as needed.
