About The Position

The Mainstream Criminal Division of the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office is seeking highly motivated attorneys with a commitment to justice, integrity, compassion, leadership, and professionalism to join our office as term-limited Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys in the District Court Unit. These are excellent opportunities to develop expertise and gain courtroom experience, particularly for new and less experienced attorneys. Requirements

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Passion and eagerness to learn trial skills.
• Strong ability to accept feedback and coaching.
• Must be Washington State Bar qualified or planning to take the July 2025 bar exam.

Responsibilities

• Handle gross misdemeanor cases in the District Court Unit.
• Develop skills as a trial lawyer and negotiator.
• Participate in the mission of the office to serve the cause of justice.
• Cover work at courthouses in Seattle, Kent, and Redmond.
• Assist with mainstream felony filings and cover felony calendars.
