About The Position

Spry is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team supporting a government contract in Washington, DC. In this role, you will support and assist the Program Manager in overseeing the overall planning, direction, and success of major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives that are crucial to the activity's and agency's needs. You will help manage large, multi-year programs divided into several sub-programs or tasks, assist in defining the program's scope, objectives, and deliverables, and help organize the program structure. Key responsibilities include supporting the development of short-term and long-term plans, assisting in formulating and guiding the technical approach, negotiating with personnel to secure necessary resources, and helping establish and control technical milestones, schedules, budgets, and costs. We value logical thinking, analytical skills, and leadership to support both our customer and team effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or financial related field
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing contractor performance
  • Demonstrated Supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Navy Project Management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in business or financial related field
  • PMP Certification

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing detailed plans for major programs, systems development efforts, and research or technology initiatives.
  • Support the effective execution and successful completion of programs that are vital to the activity's and agency's needs.
  • Help define the program's scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Organize the program into sub-programs or tasks, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Formulate short-term goals and strategies to achieve program milestones.
  • Develop long-range plans to sustain and expand the program over multiple years.
  • Create and guide the technical approach for the program.
  • Direct the technical aspects to ensure alignment with program goals.
  • Identify the necessary resources (personnel, equipment, budget) required for the program.
  • Negotiate with activity and agency personnel to secure the required resources.
  • Establish and control technical milestones to track progress.
  • Develop and manage schedules to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Establish and monitor budgets and costs to keep the program within financial constraints.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and direction to ensure the program meets its objectives and delivers value to the agency.
