About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Deputy Program Manager to assist the Program Manager in overseeing and coordinating various projects and programs within the organization at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The Deputy Program Manager will be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and closeout phases of projects to ensure they are completed efficiently and effectively. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive individual looking to advance their career in program management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years' experience; additional four (4) years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required.
  • Experience in project control or program management.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Project Control, Project Planning, Estimates/ROMs, and Financial Reports.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager in planning, executing, and closing projects and programs.
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and tasks of the project team.
  • Monitor project progress, track performance, and handle issues as they arise.
  • Communicate with team members and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and effective collaboration.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports, including financial reports and presentations.
  • Assist in risk management and implement strategies to mitigate project risks.
  • Develop and update project schedules, timelines, and financial data.
  • Conduct project evaluations and assessments of results.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, timeframes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Assist in stakeholder management and facilitate communication between stakeholders and the project team.
  • Ensure that industry standards and best practices in program management are followed.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff and project team members.
  • Assist PM in Period Reports, TDMP Documents, Contract Package Preparation, and other documentation.
