The Deputy Program Manager (DHA) position requires the ability to obtain an active Public Trust. This role involves working closely with the Program Manager to lead various facets of program management, including compiling technical, financial, and other project data using various database programs; tracking project deliverables; and coordinating project-related activities between the PM, customers, and business leadership to ensure performance standards and customer requirements are met. The Deputy Program Manager serves as a direct interface between program customers daily in support of the contract program manager and project.

  • Temporarily performs Program Manager duties as needed.
  • Supports program development and management, including scheduling, budgeting, performance, and workload distribution.
  • Maintains daily communication with customers on delivery and production schedules.
  • Assists with risk mitigation strategies and solution development for assigned programs.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to customers and senior leadership.
  • Participates in technical meetings and briefings with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Oversees general administrative functions such as document management, correspondence, and database upkeep.
  • Leads project staff, ensures effective and secure operations, and monitors task execution and quality.
  • Identifies process improvement opportunities and helps compile reports and budget data.
  • Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, manages staffing needs, and maintains departmental records.
  • Builds strong relationships across departments and supports overall office functions.
  • Responds to administrative inquiries and refers all technical matters to the Government lead or Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Screens complex correspondence and reports prepared for signature to ensure clarity, completeness of reply, and compliance with office administrative procedures and policy.
  • Researches information to be presented in oral presentations and makes recommendations regarding topics and presentation approach.
  • Assists the appropriate Government program lead in drafting briefings, presentations, speeches, talking points, read-ahead packets, and other required material for meetings.
  • Provides final draft products to the Government lead for approval five business days prior to the established suspense date.
  • Assists the appropriate Government program lead in thoroughly researching information to be presented in written format.
  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Health Care or Leadership, or related field is preferred.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of leadership supervisor experience/project management required.
  • Knowledge of DHA Functions and/or higher headquarters level at Department of Defense (DoD)/Military Branch HHQ Medical Departments, Army MEDCOM, AFMEDCOM, BUMED.
  • Must possess excellent follow-through skills.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects and assignments efficiently, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention for detail.
  • Must be motivated and able to work independently with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Ability to lead and be a team-oriented professional with a mission-driven approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
