The purpose of this classification under the direction of the Program Coordinator is to assists in coordinating Judicial Citizen Review Panels for the counties of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, assists in the management of cases involving children found not competent to stand trial, assists in the management of the Community Based Risk Reduction Programs and assists in the management of (CHINS) Child in Need of Services Cases of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit, and performs other duties as directed by the Court or the Program Coordinator.

  • Assists in coordinating programs for the Citizen Review Panels (Prepare notices, draft panel paperwork and conduct panels).
  • Prepares draft Orders following panel review for Judge's approval.
  • Prepares complaints and hearing notices for Court ordered judicial review of foster care cases.
  • Assists in managing cases involving children found not competent to stand trial including chairing Committee meetings in the absence of the Program Coordinator.
  • Assist ADA in preparing/drafting Court ordered treatment plans for children found to be not competent to stand trial.
  • Monitors time limits for filing of required documents.
  • Assists in the management of Community Based Risk Reduction Programs.
  • Assists in the management of (CHINS) Child in Need of Services Program.
  • Collects children and family related information from governmental entities, which may be needed in the treatment or rehabilitation of children under the protection of the Court.
  • Responds to requests for information from governmental entities. Needs appropriate communication skills to interact with other Judicial Staff.
  • Ensures that confidential information is protected from disclosure as required by State and Federal Law.
  • Performs other duties as required by the Program Coordinator or the Court.
  • Operates a personal computer, phone system, fax machine, copier and other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions, to include the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other system software.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Acts as receptionist for the Juvenile Court office as needed.
  • Bachelor's degree, or current paralegal certificate or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
