Administration of Human Resource Programs

This position is for a professional nursing role within the Federal service, specifically located in Lame Deer, MT. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs like the Peace Corps or AmeriCorps. Candidates must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in their resume, including the total number of hours worked per week. Basic requirements include a graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. The education must be accredited by recognized bodies such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. For those with degrees from foreign nursing schools, official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools is required. Licensure is also a requirement; applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination and possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a U.S. state or territory. Experience must equip the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position, with specific requirements for GS-9 and GS-10 grade levels.

  • Perform initial diagnosis for minor or major problems of patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Provide comprehensive physician care to patients based on the physician's medical care plan and the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient.
  • Administer oxygen, IV fluid, blood transfusions, and prescribed medications.
  • Manage nasal-pharyngeal and gastric suction as well as various drainage tubes.
  • Make nursing care assignments to various skill levels of professional and non-professional personnel.
  • Provide nursing care and triage patients in urgent care settings.
  • Recognize and intervene in acute life-threatening situations, including cardiac and respiratory failure management.
  • Independently plan, schedule, and provide comprehensive nursing care in the Urgent Care Department.
  • Graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a U.S. state or territory.
  • At least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level for GS-9 applicants.
  • At least one year of professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level for GS-10 applicants.
