About The Position

The Deputy Juvenile Officer II plays a critical role in the juvenile justice system by ensuring the safety, supervision, and rehabilitation of youth under court jurisdiction. The officer is responsible for monitoring compliance with court orders, conducting investigations, and preparing detailed reports for judicial review. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background checks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with juveniles, families, and professionals.
• Ability to attend training with overnight stays and make "out of county" trips as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor juveniles placed under court-ordered probation or detention, ensuring adherence to legal and program requirements.
• Conduct thorough investigations and assessments of juvenile cases, including interviews with youth, families, and collateral contacts.
• Develop, implement, and review individualized case plans focused on rehabilitation, education, and community safety.
• Prepare detailed reports and documentation for court hearings, including progress updates and recommendations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, social service providers, schools, and community organizations to coordinate services and interventions.
• Respond promptly to incidents involving juveniles, including crisis situations, and take appropriate action to maintain safety.
• Attend court proceedings to provide testimony and support case management decisions.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with departmental policies and legal standards.
