About The Position

The Deputy Juvenile Officer II plays a critical role in the juvenile justice system by ensuring the safety, supervision, and rehabilitation of youth under court jurisdiction. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background checks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with juveniles, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to attend training with overnight stays and make "out of county" trips as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor juveniles placed under court-ordered probation or detention, ensuring adherence to legal and program requirements.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and assessments of juvenile cases, including interviews with youth, families, and collateral contacts.
  • Develop, implement, and review individualized case plans focused on rehabilitation, education, and community safety.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for court hearings, including progress updates and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, social service providers, schools, and community organizations to coordinate services and interventions.
  • Respond promptly to incidents involving juveniles, including crisis situations, and take appropriate action to maintain safety.
  • Attend court proceedings to provide testimony and support case management decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with departmental policies and legal standards.
