Requirements

  • Experience in a corporate legal environment, which includes communicating directly with executive leadership and other business leaders.
  • Experience managing support staff, including paralegals and other personnel.
  • Advanced knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political process.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial service industry.
  • Minimum Required: Bachelor's and JD Degree
  • Minimum Required: 5+ years employment law experience, including experience working in an in-house environment.
  • Minimum Required: Licensed to practice law in Missouri
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the financial services industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drafts, negotiates and reviews contracts, including but not limited to offer letters, partnership agreements among employees, and other agreements as required.
  • Advises executive leadership and other employees concerning business transactions, potential liability, and contractual issues.
  • Interprets employment laws and cases.
  • Analyzes legal and reputational risks.
  • Gathers evidence to formulate defenses to claims.
  • Represents the firm and its employees in court, arbitration, or before government and regulatory agencies.
