About The Position

Under supervision of the Fiscal Controller, the Assistant Fiscal Controller is responsible to assist in overseeing all fiscal functions for the Agency, including ensuring compliance with all relevant government regulations and maintaining the integrity of the Agency's accounting system. The Assistant Fiscal Controller will treat all individuals with dignity and respect, make necessary referrals for clients, and exemplify the South Central Community Action Program, Inc. (SCCAP) commitment to empowering people to reach their potential. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES These should not be construed as a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel. Works with Finance Specialist to input accurately and timely all accounts receivable sources. Assists Fiscal Controller with payroll functions. Maintains an accrual bookkeeping system for agency grants, per relevant standards. Prepares claim reports along with Fiscal Controller for all grants. Assists Fiscal Controller with preparation of agency-wide budget. Prepares various reports, forms, and analysis as required. Maintains files and filing systems to Federal, State and Agency regulations, requirements, and guidelines. Assists Fiscal Controller in all other fiscal needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field plus some relevant work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
  • Skilled in the use of computers for email, accounting software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a personal vehicle with required liability insurance for use in business related travel.
  • Must ensure efficient operations and present a professional image in conduct, attitude, and attire.
  • Must be philosophically compatible with the mission of SCCAP.
  • Must maintain the integrity of confidential employment, client and business information.
  • Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification (SCCAP will provide the training).
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally to attend daily work demands, meetings, workshops, and conferences.
