The New York City Financial Information Services Agency-Office of Payroll Administration (FISA-OPA) is recruiting a Deputy Executive Director (DED) of Payroll Operations. The scope of responsibility of this position is extensive, with complete authority to carry out Payroll Operations activities for FISA-OPA, initiate and implement Citywide payroll policy and impact payroll processing. The DED of Payroll Operations is responsible for these groups within FISA-OPA: Payroll Customer Service, Payroll Banking and Accounting, Pay and Deductions Analysis, Citywide Maintenance and Integrity and Citywide Systems Business Analysis. The DED of Payroll Operations is the Chief Payroll Officer for the City of New York and is responsible for administering and disbursing over ten (10) million payroll checks, with a total dollar value approximating $34 billion dollars. In addition, the position is responsible for administering and disbursing over $18 billion in pension payments through the Pension Payroll Management System (PPMS). The PPMS currently processes pension checks for the NYC retirement systems.
