About The Position

The Deputy Director of Resident Participation and Civic Engagement at NYCHA will oversee the department's operations, focusing on enhancing civic engagement and service delivery to residents. This role involves managing a team, implementing strategic initiatives, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders to address the unique needs of NYCHA's diverse communities.

Requirements

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and seven years of experience in an executive or administrative capacity in a large community agency with at least 25 professional employees.
• A master's degree or 30 graduate credits in relevant fields and six years of experience as described above.
• A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the department's Neighborhood Model to address unique needs of housing developments.
• Assist with the overall operation of the department in the absence of the Senior Director.
• Support the Senior Director in revising and implementing an updated neighborhood approach for improved civic engagement.
• Directly supervise Borough Managers responsible for resident engagement efforts.
• Develop processes and tools for inclusive stakeholder engagement procedures.
• Manage Tenant Participation funds and evaluate spending with Resident Associations.
• Oversee citywide elections and ensure compliance with election procedures.
• Implement policies consistent with HUD regulations and guidelines.
• Develop key performance indicators to measure resident engagement impact.
• Collaborate with various NYCHA departments to design resident-facing projects.
• Provide technical assistance and skills training for residents.
• Represent NYCHA at conferences and meetings with various stakeholders.
