We are currently seeking a Deputy Director for our Young Adults department. The Deputy Director provides overall leadership and direction to the Young Adults department and ensures smooth day-to-day operation. Ensures successful achievement of assigned program/service goals and objectives; maintains superior customer relations with appropriate program constituencies; and demonstrates collaborative partnerships among organizational staff and volunteers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, Social work or related field with two to five two years of progressive program/service management experience in a social service setting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Non-profit experience is strongly preferred, with understanding of the criminal justice environment.
  • Experience working with Court System and/or Probation
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines, strong attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to analyze and interpret data independently.
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Ability to travel locally
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and overall leadership to the Young Adult team, rooted in best practices in the field.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish goals, objectives and work plans. Implements work activities to meet goals, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of results.
  • Development program activities and continually evaluate the quality of services provided.
  • Develop systems and procedures to assure compliance with program requirements and fidelity to curricula.
  • Evaluates the program against planned objectives; formulate corrective action plans and implement measures to ensure that the highest standards of care are being met.
  • Oversee the dissemination of educational materials and programming that support Young Adults and make sure that all information about the organization is being provided clearly and accurately to the participants
  • Monitor spending relative to budget to ensure strong fiscal management of programmatic resources.
  • Delegate work assignments and collaborate with staff and volunteers who assist in carrying out assigned activities.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to enhance staff abilities. Provides direct supervision to staff and teambuilding across the department
  • Recruit, develop and motivate volunteers who participate in meeting organizational goals and objectives
  • Locate and maintain a participant base. Provide participant services and ensure the highest level of service delivery
  • Draft correspondence documents and reports to validate program/service processes
  • Manage relationships with funders across multiple funding sources
  • Develop and conduct training for staff to enhance their knowledge and support their professional development. Schedule for all program staff to be appropriately trained to facilitate all curricula delivered during group sessions.
  • Review, assist and support program staff in the implementation of contracts and grant-funded initiatives. This includes gathering and reviewing all data needed for submission into the assigned program database.
  • Ensure that staff define and implement a service plan based on the client’s needs and that these plans are coordinated with Osborne community-based staff for appropriate planning.
  • Ensure that the program complies with contractual agreements
  • Observe program groups and services to establish a quality assurance process to make certain that group curriculum is accurate. Responsible for monthly facility calendars.
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings to increase awareness of various program services and updates
  • Work with Program Analyst and Program coordinators to make certain that weekly and monthly reports and other documents related to the program are accurate and submitted in a timely fashion. This includes scanning, emailing documents and submitting original documentation to the Data team for entry into ECM, the Osborne data system.
  • Attend required trainings
  • In-person attendance is required daily to collaborate with co-workers
  • Perform other duties as assigned
