About The Position
The Deputy Director is responsible for assisting with overseeing the daily operations and overall management of parking facilities and surface lots to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective services for residents, merchants, and visitors. This role involves leading a professional, diverse, and customer-focused team to deliver seamless parking operations for daily, monthly, and event-related activities. The Deputy Director also plays a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction by fostering a work environment that promotes diversity, integrity, collaboration, and collegiality. Emphasizing a 'Teamwork' culture, the Deputy Director ensures service levels and operational initiatives are consistently aligned with the standards of The City of Columbia and Parking Services. The work is considered sedentary in nature and involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations. The work requires the following physical abilities to perform the essential job functions: climbing, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Work environment involves exposure to no known environmental hazards; and is dynamic that requires sensitivity to change and responsiveness to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
