About The Position

This is a supervisory role and a program liaison between the the Office of Judicial Administration and stake holders within the Kansas court system to include the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and district courts. Work primarily revolves around managing and supporting centralized payment processing and advising on procedures, policies, technology, and legislation affecting this program. There is significant fiscal responsibility with this position. Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the following processes: district and appellate court receipts, deposits, and disbursements; overseeing financial policies and procedures and ensuring conformity with procedures relating to district and appellate courts; and troubleshooting financial issues for judicial branch statewide. Work includes performing specialized accounting tasks that follow established GAAP procedures and supervising the Central Payments Center (CPC) case processing teams to enhance financial controls, visibility, and efficiencies statewide. This position will work with the Director of Central Payments to develop and document accounting policies and procedures; oversee training district court employees; and work in unison with Director and CFO to ensure compliance with policies, statutes, orders, and goals for the judicial branch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, criminal justice, or related field
  • at least three years of experience working with financials with the Kansas courts in a managerial capacity
  • Additional years' experience may be considered in place of education requirement
