About The Position

The primary responsibilities of this role, Deputy Director, Content and Digital Communications – NA Pharmaceuticals are to provide strategic leadership for external-facing content and digital communications for Bayer’s Pharmaceuticals business, advancing brand and reputation. This role develops and executes communications initiatives across key therapy areas targeted at HCP, patients and other key audiences. This individual leads above brand and digital communications for Pharmaceuticals as a member of the NA Pharmaceuticals Communications and Digital Communications squads. This role works with marketing, brand and communications teams across all pharmaceutical product franchises, flowing across areas of greatest business need. This candidate contributes to larger scale above brand and digital communications initiatives, bringing best-in-class strategies and technologies to optimize content and channels across a range of media and digital platforms. This lead is focused on delivering 90-day and long-term business outcomes across all areas. This role brings significant understanding and expertise about the US healthcare market, creative and innovative delivery of programs, and the ability to work flexibly across the most valuable work to deliver optimal business success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experienced in cutting-edge technologies and in working across a variety of AI platforms.
  • Strategic communications expertise in developing and implementing social and digital campaigns with strong capability to deliver successful metrics.
  • Strong commercial focus and business acumen.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions, departments and divisions within a matrixed structure to achieve business results.
  • Strong content generator who can take complex information and produce clear, compelling, and motivating content quickly for various stakeholders and via appropriate channels.
  • A record of success and experience in advising and influencing executive-level leaders.
  • Thinks strategically and executes at a high level to support our fast-moving and nimble organization and people-focused culture.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, digital technology or similar field.
  • 10-14 years’ experience with proven record of developing and executing strategic corporate and digital communications programs in pharma or a related industry preferred with a focus on brand and above-brand programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic counsel and partnership to brand and marketing teams, corporate communications and agency partners to support positioning the business favorably across a number of pharmaceutical brand areas through integrated paid, earned, social and owned channels and campaigns.
  • Develops and executes creative, engaging and timely communications and campaigns for brand and above-brand initiatives with a focus on delivering best-in-class digital communications strategies.
  • Aligns to key timelines and budget to produce measurable outcomes and successes.
  • Partners closely with corporate, brand and marketing teams.
  • Understands the Bayer and competitor landscape across Pharmaceuticals to ensure strategic positioning for Bayer’s launch and portfolio brands.
  • Creates and optimizes key communications content and materials with a focus on innovative digital communications strategies and tactics.
  • Establishes a robust and consistent measurement program to set/track goals.
  • Harnesses key metrics to measure success, report progress against strategies and ensure continuous improvements.
  • Extracts the best work from external agencies and manage plans to budget.
  • Serves as member of NA communication, NA Pharma and Digital Communications squads to deliver on key communications initiatives that support business outcomes across Bayer NA.
