About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to function as Deputy Director for the Budget Execution team for the Division of Budget and Analysis. The position reports to the Director of Budget and Analysis and provides leadership and management to NCDHHS division and offices budget staff related to budget execution and budget monitoring activities. This position supervises a team of budget analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or other discipline related to the area of assignment from appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive related experience, three of which must have been supervisory in nature OR An equivalent combination of training and experience

  • Demonstrated managerial experience in planning, directing, and organizing the work of professional staff
  • Considerable knowledge of health and/or human services programs either through professional work experience and/or budgeting experience associated with the management of health and/or human services programs
  • Considerable knowledge of state and federal laws affecting these programs with subsequent impact and consequence on budgeting and fiscal analysis
  • Working knowledge of legislative and rule making processes
  • Considerable work experience in budgeting and accounting systems
