About The Position

The Deputy Cybersecurity Manager, serving as Deputy Cybersecurity Lead, assists the Cybersecurity Manager in the management of all cybersecurity operations and related processes based on Government-approved Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) processes. This role focuses on protecting IT infrastructure, systems, and data while ensuring compliance with federal regulations, policies, and processes. The Deputy Cybersecurity Manager leads a team of cybersecurity professionals, develops and manages security policies and procedures, and collaborates with IT departments to enhance security throughout the task order lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) with all phases of Information Assurance (IA) and accreditation processes
  • 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) managing and leading security operations staff in project environments
  • 5 years of experience (within the last 7 years) successfully managing information security risks including A&A and ATO processes
  • DoD 8140 DCWF certification at the Advanced level or equivalent DoD 8570 Approved certification
  • ITIL® V4 Foundation Level Certification or equivalent
  • Active Top Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordinating team workloads

Responsibilities

  • Manage cybersecurity operations and coordinate security team activities to protect infrastructure and data
  • Lead a team of cybersecurity professionals with hiring, supervision, and performance management responsibilities
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and strategies to mitigate organizational risks
  • Lead security authorization and accreditation (A&A) processes and Authority to Operate (ATO) achievement
  • Manage Information Assurance (IA) programs across systems, services, and infrastructure
  • Conduct security risk assessments and implement corrective actions for identified vulnerabilities
  • Oversee encryption devices, procedures, and data protection practices across networks and systems
  • Develop governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) frameworks aligned with federal requirements
  • Lead incident detection, response, and recovery activities following federal guidelines
  • Collaborate with IT teams, project managers, and stakeholders to integrate security throughout the task order
  • Prepare security status reports and compliance briefings for government leadership
