About The Position

This position assists the County Recorder in managing and maintaining all real estate records for the County, ensuring compliance with legal requirements for property titles. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Review and record all real estate documents in both abstract and torrens.
  • Assist County Recorder as custodian of all official real estate documents submitted for recording.
  • Open all mail and review acceptable instruments presented such as deeds and mortgages for statutory requirements.
  • Process documents in the Torrens (Registered Land) system and maintain documents on the computer.
  • Verify real estate documents in the land records and imaging system for statutory compliance reporting.
  • Serve as customer service agent for the department, responding to inquiries regarding procedures and property descriptions.
  • Accept and process passport applications.
  • Scan, index, and track real estate documents.
  • Review deeds and other documents for accuracy and completeness according to Real Estate Law.
  • Assist with special projects and back indexing documents into the AVID system.
  • Establish and maintain all books of record, files, and indexes according to statutory requirements.
  • Receipt and record documents daily in reception books and registers, responsible for daily data entry and imaging.
  • Assume duties of Recorder in their absence and provide work direction as needed.
  • Prepare daily and monthly reports and invoices.
  • Collect fees and process receipts, assisting with budget preparation of the department.
