About The Position

The Australian Ballet is one of the world’s leading national ballet companies and a globally recognised Australian major performing arts organisation. Each year the company presents upwards of 220 performances through its main stage seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Canberra, and Perth along with public programs, special events, an extensive regional tour, a Children’s Ballet and Education programs and regular overseas tours. Role Highlights : Deliver and maintain the operations of the national company’s 60 year history of touring and main stage performance and experiencing our classic repertoire and innovative work. Contribute to an operational department integral to the delivery of The Australian Ballet’s seasons and activities. Opportunity to work daily in some of Australia’s well known and distinctive buildings, including Sydney Opera House, Art Centre Melbourne, Regent Theatre, collaborating with their teams, processes and delivering product on these international stages.

Requirements

  • Experience in entertainment or performing arts administration, ideally with a touring company or venue.
  • Experience of and/or ability to access relevant Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and other associated industrial agreements.
  • Initiative and solution focused with the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the company operational requirements, including company coordination, venue, and tour management, encompassing Mainstage productions, National and Storytime tours, Education and Outreach and International engagements.
  • Manage the Child Employment process per production in line with Government legislation.
  • Oversee both front and back of house operations when rostered on in the venue throughout performances.
  • Whilst on tour and in season offer direction, and support to touring parties and management, while upholding the company’s duty of care.
  • Maintain productive relationships with venue partners and theatre management through briefings, effective communication with incident resolution.
