About The Position
The Deputy City Marshal II position with the City of Fort Worth Marshal's Division is a law enforcement officer role commissioned by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE). This position is critical in ensuring the safety and security of the community, particularly in court environments and during various law enforcement activities. The Deputy City Marshal II is tasked with bringing wanted parties before the court, operating security screening checkpoints, serving as court bailiffs at Municipal Court locations, and patrolling the waters of Lake Worth. The role requires a commitment to uphold state and federal laws in accordance with division policies, ensuring that all actions taken are in the best interest of public safety and legal compliance. In addition to the primary responsibilities, Deputy City Marshals are expected to respond to emergencies and incidents within the Municipal Courts and the City Hall Complex, as well as in and around Lake Worth. They are responsible for transporting prisoners to and from surrounding jurisdictions, ensuring their proper restraint during transportation. The position also involves conducting traffic stops, enforcing various traffic laws, and issuing citations as necessary. Furthermore, Deputy City Marshals must maintain accurate reports, inventories, and documents related to their duties, which is essential for accountability and transparency in law enforcement operations. Candidates for this position must possess a valid TCOLE Peace Officer's license and have a minimum of two years of experience in a law enforcement-related field or applicable military police experience. The role demands a high level of physical fitness and the ability to perform essential functions such as sitting, walking, standing for prolonged periods, and operating motorized equipment.
