This position is designed for a duration of 24 months, with the possibility of extension based on the needs of the office. The Deputy City Attorney I will perform legal research, draft legal documents, and provide legal advice to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. The role involves working closely with the City Attorney and Assistant City Attorney, and may include leading projects and advising City advisory bodies or boards. As an entry-level position in the Deputy City Attorney classification series, the Deputy City Attorney I will initially work under close supervision, gaining experience in municipal law areas such as land use, environmental law, civil rights, labor relations, and contract negotiation.
