The Long Beach City Attorney seeks to employ a full-time staff attorney with strong transactional skills to work in the Departmental Counsel division. A minimum of three years' experience in varied public law work including contracts, purchase orders, leases, permits, the California Public Records Act, and the Brown Act is preferred. The candidate must be comfortable and confident appearing before local boards and commissions in a variety of administrative settings. Responsibilities include providing advice to City departments, boards and commissions; preparing legal opinions, ordinances, resolutions, contracts, leases; and representing the City in both civil and administrative proceedings.
