The Deputy Chief of Professional Learning at KIPP Texas is a transformational leadership role responsible for spearheading innovative strategies to empower educators and leaders, directly impacting student success. This position involves creating and managing a comprehensive professional learning plan aligned with district goals, focusing on curriculum development, instructional strategies, leadership development, assessment practices, and new technologies. The Deputy Chief will work under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer and will be accountable for achieving organization-wide academic goals.

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team responsible for the execution of all professional learning initiatives.
  • Design and promote a train-the-trainer model to build site leadership capacity for coaching and delivering impactful professional learning.
  • Develop and implement an innovative, comprehensive vision for professional learning as part of the broader talent development cycle.
  • Create and facilitate professional learning plans aligned to the academic vision and strategy.
  • Plan, execute, and evaluate a robust Summer Professional Learning Institute.
  • Foster a culture of ongoing professional growth by providing opportunities for teachers to share best practices.
  • Establish frameworks for professional development tied to succession planning and instructional excellence.
  • Support a healthy regional leadership pipeline by developing school management systems level leaders.
  • Create a vision and strategy for school leader professional learning aligned to organizational goals.
  • Manage Principal-in-Residence programming to cultivate a strong internal school leadership pipeline.
  • Implement and re-vision teacher and leader evaluation programs in partnership with the talent management team.
  • Lead a team that coordinates logistics for all professional learning sessions across KIPP Texas.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Human Resources, or Talent Management strongly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive systems-level leadership experience, preferably with executive leadership experience at a large organization.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful teaching experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a school leadership role with proven success in academic achievement.
  • Experience in designing and facilitating impactful professional learning and coaching frameworks.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory.
  • Salary range of $160,000-$180,000 based on experience.
