About The Position

The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for the USAID-Digital Health Information and Data Use Program will lead and manage a five-year project aimed at enhancing country ownership and management of a national integrated health information ecosystem. This role combines both managerial and technical responsibilities, focusing on building local capacity in digital health technologies and ensuring alignment with USAID health priorities. The DCOP will oversee project activities, manage staff performance, and ensure high-quality deliverables while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in public health or related field
  • 7+ years of senior technical leadership experience on USAID programs
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in international health, M&E, digital health, and project management
  • 5+ years of experience building partnerships with government agencies and organizations
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams and individual staff members

  • Experience leading and managing technical and administrative teams

  • Experience in M&E systems including data quality

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality technical & managerial leadership to the project's interventions
  • Build upon documented successes and lessons learned in strengthening national health databases and technical capacities
  • Ensure project activities align with USAID and buy-in countries health priorities
  • Support collaborative communication channels with USAID, Ministry of Health, and other stakeholders
  • Assist the Project Director in timely submission of work plans, reports, and deliverables
  • Mentor and support the success of activity team members
  • Manage the performance and professional development of senior staff members
