The Strategic Planning and Analytics Unit within the office functions as an internal management consulting team, utilizing advanced data science and research analytics to support evidence-based decision-making. This unit is tasked with measuring performance, conducting strategic analyses, evaluating the impacts of policies and initiatives, and promoting transparency. Additionally, it manages grants that provide essential funding for prosecutorial practices and support for victims of crime in the Bronx. As the Deputy Chief of Data Analytics, the individual will oversee a broad spectrum of data engineering, analysis, and research initiatives aimed at enhancing policy planning and strategic initiatives. This leadership role requires significant technical expertise in transforming complex criminal justice data into analysis-ready datasets tailored for strategic analysis, reporting, and performance measurement. Key responsibilities include leading the development of customized analytics tools that facilitate real-time prosecutorial decision-making, training and supervising data analysts, and ensuring the ongoing development of a standardized data management and analysis system. The Deputy Chief will also oversee quantitative data analysis projects and standardized reporting using R and data visualization tools to effectively communicate insights to both internal and external stakeholders.
