The Deputy Chief Information Officer (Deputy CIO) / Deputy Director of Information Technology provides leadership, guidance, and support to staff, supervisors, and managers on a wide variety of information technology initiatives. The Deputy CIO assists and supports the CIO in the overall management, vision, goals, program requirements, and strategic planning within a 60+ person Information Technology Department. The Deputy CIO leads and directs the activities and priorities of multiple divisions within the IT Department and may perform the duties and responsibilities of the CIO in their absence. As Deputy CIO, this position provides operational leadership and management for the county's Information Technology Department to include highly responsible planning and administrative work in the direction, development, coordination, and implementation of information services, including infrastructure operations, project delivery, managed services, vendor management, and management of IT staff. This leadership role will act as a strategic business partner managing demand and capacity considerations for both department resources and technology process, capacity planning resources, technology solutions and enhancing project delivery for Washington County. The IT Deputy CIO will look for continued improvement and innovation, recommending initiatives to enhance collaboration, efficiency and productivity.
