The Deputy Building Official supervises inspectors and plans examiners concerning all commercial and residential projects, and supervises and performs inspections and certifications of new, existing, and altered buildings and structures. This role involves ensuring compliance with state and county codes, ordinances, and laws, as well as managing personnel functions such as hiring, training, and disciplinary actions. The Deputy Building Official also coordinates inspections, conducts pre-submission conferences, advises builders and contractors, and presents evidence to the Code Enforcement Board regarding violations.
