POSITION PURPOSE: The Laborer shall perform tasks involving physical labor at operational sites to support various mission requirements. Work in accordance with US Navy Policies and Protocols for the Navy Marine Mammal Program.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3 years’ experience in general construction
  • Ability to lift 75lbs wet from water to dock.
  • Ability to be certified for forklift operations
  • Ability to be certified for coxswain operations
  • Ability to work independently as well as a team player
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently
  • Ability to follow supervisory verbal and written instructions and designated health and safety requirements.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to swim (due to working on and around docks/water)
  • Understands the importance of safety and working according to safety standards
  • Must be able to pass background screen to obtain access to work location

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the building, installation, and maintenance of on-water facilities in support of the Navy-Marine Mammal Program
  • Assist with the building, installation, and maintenance of land-based facilities in support of the Navy-Marine Mammal Program
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of water filtration systems
  • Assist with the operation and maintenance of unmanned underwater vehicles
  • Assist with the transport of vessels to and from service centers
  • Assist with the buildout, inventory management, and maintenance of specialized equipment and hardware deployed at the site
  • Lift and carry materials
  • Utilize power tools and hand tools
  • Inspect, maintain and operate assigned manual and power tools
  • Collection of construction debris/trash
  • Load/unload various materials
  • To be able to work independently as well as a team player.
