About The Position

The Deposit Services Assistant supports the daily operations of the bank’s deposit services function by processing front-line related transactions and providing operational support to branch staff and internal departments. This role requires accuracy, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of bank deposit products, policies, and regulatory requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES • Assist with a variety of deposit account transactions, including new accounts, account changes, account closures, and customer record updates. • Assist the front-line with daily processing of deposit-related items such as holds, stop payments, ACH disputes, and debit card maintenance, as assigned. • Support branch staff by responding to questions regarding deposit products, procedures, and account maintenance requests. • Assist with research of deposit account issues, escalating unresolved or high-risk items as appropriate. • Maintain accurate records and documentation of work. • Assist with regulatory compliance activities related to deposit accounts, including Reg CC, Reg E, Reg D, and applicable consumer protection requirements. • Identify potential fraud indicators related to deposit activity and escalate concerns according to bank policy. • Contribute to process improvement efforts and procedural updates within the Deposit Services area. • Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and bank information at all times. SECONDARY DUTIES The Deposit Services Assistant performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in deposit operations or banking support functions preferred.
  • Experience working with core banking systems and deposit account platforms preferred.
  • Working knowledge of deposit products, account maintenance processes, and banking operations.
  • Basic understanding of applicable banking regulations, including Reg CC, Reg E, Reg D, and consumer deposit regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Effective organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze issues, research discrepancies, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with branch staff and operations teams.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform computer-based work.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet daily processing deadlines.
  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods or to meet deadlines.

  • Possess and maintain a current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage. Both are required to drive while performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Possess and maintain adequate skills in computer operation, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and specialty software programs.
  • Possess and maintain adequate typing skills to meet the needs of the position.
  • Possess and maintain adequate math skills to meet the needs of the position. This may include the ability to count currency and coin, calculate interest, balance accounts, add, subtract, multiply, and locate routine mathematical errors.
  • Practice effective and efficient organizational and time management skills.
  • Be able to work with general supervision while performing duties.
  • Use effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. This includes the ability to apply common sense when carrying out instructions, interpreting documents, understanding procedures, writing reports and correspondence, and speaking clearly to customers and employees.
  • Be able to deal with routine problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.
