About The Position

This position focuses on delivering deposit products and fostering strong relationships within the department to efficiently serve members. The role requires handling regulations, procedures, and disclosures related to new and existing deposit products, with a strong emphasis on specialized account types such as IRAs, deceased accounts, trusts, and POA/POD accounts.

Requirements

  • Educational equivalent to a high school education plus additional coursework in office procedures desired.
  • One to three years experience in a bank or credit union setting.
  • Professional well-developed writing and interpersonal skills essential for interacting with credit union staff, members, and outside business partners.
  • Ability to work accurately with figures and perform detailed work.
  • Ability to operate a variety of office equipment (10-key, personal computer, Microsoft Office).
  • Basic mathematical skills required (Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with compliance and regulatory aspects of deposit products.
  • Judgment to solve day-to-day problems within established guidelines using a member service approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deposit knowledge and member service to both internal and external members, answering questions about SCU deposit products and procedures.
  • Implement procedures to support member relationship building and streamline front-line activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of compliance and regulatory aspects of all deposit products, including deceased accounts, trust accounts, POA accounts, Payable on Death rules, and UTMA accounts.
  • Handle IRA reporting between our IRA administrator and core system, ensuring accurate form completion.
  • Serve as a key resource for deceased accounts, managing calls and documentation to ensure smooth transitions and account closures.
  • Review documents for trust and POA account openings to ensure compliance and fit for members.
  • Assist in processing wire requests, balancing timeliness with security procedures.
  • Process incoming paper payroll lists from external payroll offices.
  • Execute all job functions in compliance with BSA, OFAC, and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP) requirements.
