About The Position

This in-office position reports to the Deposit Operations Manager & Officer or assignee. The Deposit Operations Specialist performs a variety of financial and non-financial maintenance tasks, as well as a variety of tasks related to the daily operations of the Deposit Operations Department, including, but not limited to, online banking, wires, ACH, ATM / Debit Card, and Abandoned Property. Additionally, the incumbent cross trains to be proficient in all Deposit Operations daily operations, rotates and works all operational areas of the department, and provides support for members and bank staff regarding electronic products and services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills / interpersonal skills / customer service skills.
  • Ability to solve problems.
  • Strong attention-to-detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • General understanding of math, computers, and Microsoft Office applications

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all responsibilities and duties required of a Deposit Operations Specialist
  • Provides service and support to external members, internal bank staff, and other personnel regarding Electronic Banking. Ensure prompt and courteous response to all inquiries.
  • Works closely with branches to maintain member records.
  • Coordinates the workflow with other departments, as needed.
  • Processes and maintains wire transfers, foreign currency orders, ACH, returned items, sweep accounts, savings transfer management, internet banking issues, bill payment issues, and other electronic banking functions.
  • Maintains and orders ATM and Debit cards, monitors fraud, and processes chargebacks.
  • Coordinates and process Abandoned Property accounts by state laws.
  • Prints daily notices.
  • Reviews daily reports for quality control and perform any necessary filing.
  • Ensure all work is processed in compliance with BSA and OFAC.
  • Has thorough knowledge of regulatory and compliance issues for all services performed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of member account information. Follows established policies and procedures in responding to inquiries and requests.
  • Is proficient in the following programs / tools necessary for operation: Abandoned Property Wires and Foreign Currency RIM – Check Returned Item Maintenance Retail Internet Banking CheckFree Bill Pay Transfer Management System (TMS) – Internal Transfers EFT and Card Management System (CMS) – ATM / Debit Card System eStatements Check Images Remote Deposit Review Cold Storage Report View ACH Sweep Accounts Cleartouch Verafin – CTRs and OFAC
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
