About The Position

The Operations Specialist I at Alpine Bank is responsible for a variety of deposit operations duties that are essential to the smooth functioning of the bank's operations. This role involves monitoring, reconciliations, item processing, and maintaining accounts and customer information files (CIFs). The position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance, which is considered an essential function of the job. The specialist will monitor new account setups and changes to ensure that proper documentation and Customer Identification Program (CIP) information are received and accurately imaged. Additionally, the role includes overseeing customer address changes and managing the bad address flag, recognizing and logging errors, and ensuring that all documentation is complete and accurate. The Operations Specialist I will also be responsible for tracking exceptions to CIP requirements, processing returned mail, and updating the system accordingly. Daily activities will include supporting deposit operations staff with processing and related project assignments, reconciling internal accounts, and balancing cash for various locations. The specialist will perform clerical and administrative functions, such as handling phone calls professionally and processing incoming and outgoing mail. Furthermore, the role involves processing transactions through item processing, handling exception items like chargebacks and non-sufficient funds (NSFs), and ensuring compliance with established processes and procedures. In addition to these responsibilities, the Operations Specialist I will complete internal training programs, including teller training and new accounts training, and will be expected to perform other duties as assigned. Employees in this role are held accountable for all duties associated with the position, and the ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner is crucial. Strong communication skills, familiarity with banking regulations, and proficiency in basic computer applications are essential for success in this role.
