Our Test Systems Engineering team in Military Aircraft Group is looking for a Deployment Engineer to join them. You will report to the Deployment Engineering Section Head and will have a hybrid work schedule in Torrance, CA. As a key member of our Test Systems Engineering team, you'll be responsible for ensuring our test systems are fully functional, customer-approved, and ready for long-term sustainment. Your work will span the full deployment lifecycle from design reviews to installation and training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of experience in development and production testing within aerospace, automotive, or test equipment sectors
  • Hands-on experience with multi-axis, closed-loop, servo-hydraulic, and electromechanical test systems
  • Willingness to travel (5-10%)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment of test equipment, ensuring it meets customer expectations and is ready for handoff to sustainment.
  • Participate in Critical Design Reviews (CDRs) to align on technical requirements and deployment strategy.
  • Support equipment assembly, acting as the bridge between technicians and design engineers to resolve build issues.
  • Assist with integration testing and formal verification, including writing and executing Verification Test Procedures and generating Verification Test Reports.
  • Coordinate customer validation efforts, including correlation testing when needed.
  • Ensure all documentation, software, and calibration procedures are complete, accurate, and released.
  • Conduct pre-installation site surveys and coordinate facility readiness, including compliance with local regulations.
  • Deliver user training and create supporting documentation such as user and maintenance manuals.
  • Recommend spare parts and support the sustainment team with technical insights.
  • Maintain configuration control throughout development and deployment.

  • Continuously improve deployment processes and tools in collaboration with global engineering leads.
  • Ensure safety and legal compliance at all development and deployment locations.
