About The Position
The Deployment Coordinator at AMR plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of ambulance services in Santa Clara County. Under general direction, this position utilizes sophisticated system status management computer systems to monitor, update, and control the location and movement of ambulances. The Deployment Coordinator represents Global Medical Response (GMR) to local committees, medical and training institutions, and other related agencies, participating actively in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) processes. Candidates must be able to work under pressure and demonstrate a higher-than-average attention to detail, as the role involves critical decision-making in emergency situations. The essential functions of the Deployment Coordinator include coordinating and supervising the activities of personnel assigned to them, reviewing and acting upon incident reports, and ensuring the proper performance of telecommunications and related equipment. The Coordinator attends meetings with allied agencies and collaborates with Field Supervisors, Operation Managers, and field crews to address any issues that arise during operations. Additionally, the role involves assisting the Education and Training Department with orientation and continuing education programs, as well as participating in the collection and analysis of statistical data for reporting purposes. This position requires excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to evaluate the performance of team members objectively. The Deployment Coordinator must also possess knowledge of employee health and safety, counseling skills, and the ability to adapt to various styles and changes in the work environment. A basic understanding of telecommunications equipment and ambulance deployment concepts is also beneficial.
