About The Position

General Atomics Systems Integration, LLC (GA-SI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a provider of military and commercial engineering services. GA-SI is a leading-edge expert in systems integration technologies, reliability improvements, and controls system design. We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced UAV Pilot to join our Aero Services Division. Employees can live in any state but must be able to deploy both CONUS and OCONUS in support of company projects. Employees in this role enjoy a Flex deployment rotation schedule of roughly 12-16 weeks working and 12 weeks off while maintaining full benefits. Flex employees work only while deployed or in a training status and receive competitive deployment compensation. Under general direction, this position is responsible for coordinating ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and ground and flight safety. Serves as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned Unmanned Air Vehicle(s) (UAV) and as Instructor Pilot providing academic and in-flight instruction.

Requirements

• Experience in coordinating and participating in ground and flight operations efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, aircrew resource management and safety.
• Ability to remotely pilot vehicles to determine compliance with specifications and operational suitability during engineering tests and flight test/demonstration support.
• Experience in defining, planning, organizing and executing flight programs and flight test events.
• Knowledge of service guidance, company policy and procedures, and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations.
• Ability to develop and verify procedures for use with new aircraft features and participate in the development of operational and safety procedures and training syllabus courseware.
• Experience conducting demonstrations and participating in operational ground and flight tests of assigned UAV(s).
• Ability to represent the organization with military and commercial customers.
• Experience instructing UAV student pilots in ground and flight operations.
• Commitment to observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations.
• Ability to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Responsibilities

• May develop and verify procedures for use with new aircraft features and participates in the development of operational and safety procedures and training syllabus courseware.
• Conducts demonstrations and participates in operational ground and flight tests of assigned UAV(s).
• Represents the organization with military and commercial customers.
• Instructs UAV student pilots in ground and flight operations.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
