The Departmental Manager 14 (Training, Quality Assurance and Document Manager) position at the Michigan Department of Treasury is a managerial role responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of training programs within the Tax Compliance Bureau. This role involves assessing training needs, managing onboarding processes, and ensuring quality assurance in training activities. The manager will also coordinate documentation efforts and special projects, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and excellent customer service.

  • Plan, organize, direct, and control the development and implementation of all bureau training programs.
  • Identify and assess training needs within the bureau.
  • Serve as a liaison with Outreach to manage the development of trainings for taxpayers.
  • Manage onboarding and training of Tax Compliance employees.
  • Review training activities and special projects, making recommendations to executive management.
  • Establish and track training metrics.
  • Review quality assurance reports and recommend additional training for improvement.
  • Work with Tax Policy to create training materials based on legislative changes.
  • Oversee all bureau documentation and manage the Procedures Committee's activities.
  • Coordinate training and procedures special projects.
  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
  • Experience in managing training programs in a governmental or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of tax compliance and related legislation.
