About The Position

The Departmental Analyst 12 serves as a specialist and liaison within the Detroit Southeastern Michigan Information and Intelligence Center (DSEMIIC) to the Michigan State Police Intelligence Operations Center. This role involves providing senior-level analytical support to law enforcement detectives, ensuring the integration of intelligence and operational information to combat criminal activity in Michigan. The analyst is responsible for complex case support, review of analytical products, and maintaining effective relationships with law enforcement colleagues, all while performing duties in a bias-free manner.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Three years of professional experience, including one year equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
  • Alternate education may include two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in investigative/intelligence analysis programs.
  • Training or experience with Intelligence, Personal Identifying Information, and/or Privacy and Civil Rights Protection.
  • Experience using an intelligence management system or other intelligence programs.
  • Working knowledge of 28 CFR Part 23, PII and PCII.
  • Ability to pass and maintain secret clearance.
  • Experience with strategic intelligence and interpreting data sets to produce analytical reports.
  • Experience using I2 Analyst Notebook Software.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the designated fusion center liaison within DSEMIIC.
  • Provide complex case support and senior analytic guidance to law enforcement detectives.
  • Review and disseminate analytical products such as assessments, reports, charts, maps, and graphs.
  • Ensure the integration of intelligence and operational information flow to combat criminal activity.
  • Disseminate reports to the customer base following established guidelines and protocols.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with analytic counterparts and law enforcement colleagues.
