Under the direction of Pharmacy Leadership, the Department Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordination of revenue cycle operations including assigning responsibility for the processing of patient and interdepartmental charges for medications and pharmaceutical supplies issued by the inpatient pharmacy, and tracking of such statistics and revenue and expense results that support the overall business objectives of the Department. The person in this position will also support the budget development for the Inpatient and Clinical Pharmacy areas and assist Leadership in monitoring adherence to the budget with routine reporting of budget variances. This person will also have the responsibility for providing necessary clerical/administrative support to the department as required.

  • Oversee all aspects of pharmacy revenue capture and expense management processes
  • Provide appropriate documentation and reports related to financial management of the department
  • Provide administrative and clerical support as required
  • Associate degree or two years of higher education in business or related field preferred
  • High School diploma/GED highly preferred
  • 5 years' experience in an office environment performing customer service, health related or information services work required
  • Associate degree or 2 years higher education can be substituted for 2 years of the experience, required
  • Bachelor's degree may be substituted for 4 years of the experience, required
  • Proven ability to organize and manage complex systems and projects is required
  • Knowledge of pharmacy operations and how to research for HCPCS codes and units, as well as knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding to decipher applicable codes and units per drug is also required
