About The Position

The Starbucks Manager is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service and maintaining high-quality product standards within the Starbucks department. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing inventory, training staff, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations. The manager plays a key role in creating a positive customer experience while also focusing on profitability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of overall company practices and Starbucks Department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to frequently reach, lift, and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to approximately 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a managerial role within a retail or food service environment.
  • Knowledge of product variety, standards, perishability, product handling, sanitation, labeling, and department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly customer service.
  • Assists customers by making product suggestions and filling special orders.
  • Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately.
  • Receives and appropriately resolves customer complaints and reports to Store Director as needed.
  • Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom, and one-on-one customer interaction.
  • Oversees and assists with all department duties such as preparation, brewing, and serving food items.
  • Implements proper and efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.
  • Uses and operates related equipment such as kitchen utensils, conventional and microwave ovens, coffee grinder, coffee machine, espresso machine, blenders, printers, and pallet jacks.
  • Maintains hot and cold foods to company standards.
  • Brews coffee and tea.
  • Operates electronic cash register to total customer's final bill.
  • Accepts payment and makes correct change for customers.
  • Maintains case cleanliness and visual appeal.
  • Responsible for ensuring the proper cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance of Starbucks area and equipment.
  • Ensures temperatures are maintained in all phases of preparation, display, and storage.
  • Schedules, supervises, trains, and assigns duties to department employees.
  • Plans daily operations, monitors production process following company procedures and profitability.
  • Prepares sales and inventory reports.
  • Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Stocks and rotates product.
  • Maintains and organizes cooler.
  • Builds displays, rotates, and discards outdated or spoiled product.
  • Monitors employee productivity and evaluates overall performance.
