We are seeking an experienced Engineer with strong leadership capability and managerial skills to lead our New York Plumbing & Fire Protection Department and to support the function enterprise-wide. Requirements

  • 10 plus years’ experience in plumbing /fire protection design
  • Team supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree -mechanical engineering required; PE license preferred
  • Solid technical writing skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Plumbing codes and NFPA Standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment able to work individually or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Sustainable certification programs
  • Strong software skills including Revit

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert with the ability to answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering staff.
  • Create detailed engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff to use and abide by.
  • Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects.
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally
  • Perform department management activities including recruitment, hiring, coaching, and leadership responsibilities
